Esther Bellot Obituary

Esther Margaret (Williams) Bellot, a long-time Newton Highlands resident, passed away at her home after a period of declining health from a progressive neurological disease.

Esther was born in St. George’s, Grenada and lived in Newton for over 40 years. She excelled in school, always reading and expanding her mind. She was the first of her family to move to the United States of America and opened the door for the rest of her siblings to join her. Moving to Dorchester and then once she had children to Newton for safety and better education. Esther ensured her three children had exposure to as many educational and extracurricular opportunities from Girl Scouts, piano lessons, religious activities, sports, and higher education.

She had a tireless work ethic and was multifaceted in her talents holding jobs that ranged from behind a microphone, help desk, IT, finance, catering and more. Before coming to America, she worked at Radio Grenada and Radio Antilles in Monseratt. Once in the Boston, she worked at AIG, St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Bentley University and later as an account receivables clerk for the Boston Chamber of Commerce for nearly 20 years.

She was an active member and participant in the Dominica Heritage Society of New England, the Fountain of Grace Church, Elevation Chapel and Miss Jeanie’s Catering Company. She was centered in faith and built strong bonds with her pastors and fellow parishioners.

She will be remembered for her generosity and openness to all people. Always giving money to the unhoused and pulling over her car to give rides to those who looked tired and burdened. Feeding people was her love language. Thanksgiving and Christmas overflowed with extended family, friends, and children eating, laughing and sharing stories. Partnering with sister Jacinta to bring Caribbean dishes to them in abundance to eat and take home afterwards. She was the glue that brought family together. Uniting everyone with her wit, dedication to communication, and love.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and Norman Williams as well as her brothers Simeon and Finbar. She is survived by her husband Claude C. Bellot, her children Solonje Burnett, Yannick C. Bellot and Annique Bellot and her fiancé Max Rosenberg, granddaughter Ava Rosenberg, and her devoted sister Jacinta Williams and brother-in-law David Grant.

She was the sister of Janice Alexander, Cosmo Williams, Faye King, and Andrew Williams. As well as their spouses John, Kenny, Sheran and in laws Alfreda Russell, Heather Hazarian, Donald Peters, Derek Bellot, Steven Bellot and their spouses.

She was the loving stepmother to Tahira Bellot, aunt of Jordyn and Dion Grant, Karoline and William Alexander, Janay and Kolton King, Chelsea, Garvin and Finbar, Kevin, Kiel and Akira Williams, Avison Gooding, Travis Russell and many more nieces and nephews. Her special friends who are like family include Eleanor and Barry White, their children Joshua, Adam and Benjamin, Pat McCosco and Jeanie Gruber.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave. Needham on Thurs Oct 9 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Needham Cemetery.
