Evelyn Faye (O'Hayre) Newman

Evelyn Faye (O’Hayre) Newman, of Medfield, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Born in Newton, Faye was the daughter of John and Evelyn O’Hayre. She grew up in Auburndale and attended Westbrook College.

Faye met her husband, Henry, when they were working summer jobs together at the Cape Codder Hotel in Falmouth. Hank and Faye resided in Needham for many years, where they raised their four children. Faye was a member of Wellesley Country Club where she learned the game of golf and developed many lasting friendships. She also enjoyed working at estate sales with the “Pink Ladies”. Faye spent many summers in Falmouth and was a member of Woods Hole Golf Club for nearly 50 years.

Pre-deceased by her husband Henry and son Jeffrey, Faye is survived by her children; Hank of Falmouth, Kevin and his wife Stacey of Medfield, Christopher and his wife Marilyn of Falmouth and Kimberly Estes and her husband Charles of Medfield. She was the loving Grandmother, known as “Gigi” to Ashley, CJ and Caroline Estes, Shea and Jack Newman and Samantha and Justin Newman.

Faye’s family would like to thank their extended family and friends for their compassion and support during this difficult time.
