Flora “Baby” (Miano) Alessandrini, a lifelong Needham resident died on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Beth Israel Deaconess in Needham. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Alessandrini worked as a hairdresser at American Beauty Studio for 50 years and at Briarwood Healthcare for many years. Flora as an active member of St. Bartholomew’s Sodality. Flora enjoyed cooking and gardening. The beloved wife for 68 years of Aldo Alessandrini, she was the loving mother of Gerard Alessandrini of New York City. Flora was the devoted sister of Erminie Pirro and Al “Butch” Miano both of Needham and the loving aunt of Linda Solomon, Thomas Pirro, Richard Pirro, John Miano, Teresa Foster and Madeline Minotti. Great Aunt of Janice Pirro, Greg Lawrance , Travis Tutcik, Richard and Derek Pirro. Also survived by her caregiver Sandra Rivera. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Monday, April 11 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Sunday from 4-7 PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
