Frances Morrison Obituary

Frances (Frannie) Hall Morrison, of Naples, FL and Sunapee, NH (formerly of Needham, MA and Stuart, FL), age 92, sadly passed away on April 16th, 2025 after a lengthy illness.  She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Charlie and her sister Cilla Wall and survived by her three children, Chris (Marie), Charlie (Nancy) and Suzanne (Matt) Lucey; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and her sister Patricia Hoover.

Frannie grew up in Jamestown, NY and graduated from Pine Manor College in 1952.  She worked at Harvard Law School where she met Charlie in 1956 and knowing from the beginning it was meant to be, married in 1957.

Frannie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader and was always there for them in a pinch. In what free time she had she volunteered with a number of organizations but felt her biggest impact was chairing the annual Indian River Christmas toy collection drive while living in Stuart FL.  She was also a gifted natural athlete, that despite being a diminutive five feet tall, ruled the tennis courts of the Needham Pool and Racquet Club, the fairways of Baker Hill Golf Club in Sunapee NH and the Harbor Ridge Yacht and Golf Club in Stuart FL where she had two holes in one, and the slopes of many mountains in NH. Perhaps what she will be best known for will be her tailgating prowess. For decades, she and Charlie hosted family and countless friends to endless food and drink in preparation for riveting Ivy League soccer and football games at Dartmouth and Harvard. She was always the one to make sure that all were having a wonderful time and felt welcome. Her organizational skills were unmatched, and her spirit was infectious. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A private celebration of life will be held this summer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frannie’s name to the Lake Sunapee Protective Association.
