Frances Ellen Pitts Corless

Frances Ellen Pitts Corless of Wellesley, MA, died peacefully on January 22, 2022. Ellen was born on December 30, 1927 to the late Francis De Sales Pitts and Mary  Parker Pitts. Ellen grew up in Chestnut Hill and Cohasset, Massachussetts, and was a graduate of Endicott College with a major in Photography.  Ellen was a debutante in the 1946 Boston social season.  She met and married the love of her life, Robert J. (Bob) Corless, and together they built a marriage that lasted 68 years, and took them from coast-to-coast.  Ellen was devoted to her four childen and provided a foundation of  love that propelled them to accomplishment and success. 

Ellen had wide ranging personal interests including gardening, interior decorating,  needlecrafts and rug braiding.  Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Corless, and brothers Parker Pitts and Francis De Sales (Peter) Pitts. 

Ellen is survived by her children:  Robert J. (Jon) Corless Jr. of Venice, FL, Frances (Fran) Schrader of Castle Rock, Colorado, Elizabeth (Beth) Hallett of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Peter Corless of Wellesley, MA; her sister Abigail Pitts Slattery of Wayland, MA; grandchildren Chris Gatti, Rob Corless, Lynn Goldman, Stuart Corless, Abby Corless, Reid Corless, and Timothy Corless, and great grandchildren Luca Gatti, Siena Gatti, Etta Goldman and Sam Goldman.

A memorial service is being planned for the spring.
