Francis V. O'Brien a lifelong resident of Newton died at his home on Friday Feb 3, 2012. He was 85.
Frank graduated from BC High and served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. He returned from the service and attended Boston College where he graduated with the Class of 1952. Frank constructed many homes and buildings on Cape Cod and throughout the greater Boston area. He later went to work as an engineer at the Brockton VA Hospital.
He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Lois M. (O'Brien) O'Brien, the father of William F. O'Brien of Ossipee NH and grandfather of Joseph, Katlin and Sean O'Brien and great grandfather of 5. He is also survived by his sister in law of Joan C. Squires of Melrose and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Tues Feb 7 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Mon 4-7 PM. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery West Roxbury.
