Garrett John Yee, 51, of Newton, MA, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 unexpectedly at home. We are deeply saddened by his untimely passing.
Garrett was born on August 3, 1970 to Kathy and Winston Yee in Boston, MA. Garrett graduated from Newton South High School in 1988, he went on to study at Mass Bay Community College and later graduated from the American Academy of Personal Training.
Garrett had a passion for fitness, became a personal trainer, loved his job at the Atlantis Sports Club in Dedham, MA, and found joy in helping people. He especially enjoyed time spent around family and friends. He loved attending gymnastic meets and piano recitals for his niece. He loved going to hockey, soccer, baseball, and rugby games for his nephews. Garrett was a very proud uncle. Whether it be a casual gathering with family or going out with friends, he simply loved being around family and friends. He was a genuinely happy person who was always smiling and laughing, with the best attitude and positive outlook on life.
Garrett is survived by his mother Kathy Yee, father Winston Yee, sister Laura Immerman, brother-in-law John Immerman, nephew Ryan Joseph, niece Carly Nichole, and nephew Derek John. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Garrett was loved by so many and will be sorely missed by everyone who was blessed and fortunate enough to have met and known him.
Visitation hours will be held at Eaton Funeral Home at 1351 Highland Ave in Needham, MA between 4pm-7pm on Tuesday, May 24th.
Friends and family are welcome to meet at Eaton Funeral Home at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 25th for the funeral possession to Newton Cemetery at 791 Walnut Street, Newton MA, or you may go directly to Newton Cemetery for the burial ceremony at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, an organization Garrett greatly supported. Garrett is at peace and smiling down on all of us.
