Gary L. Breda

Gary L. Breda of Sherborn and Marstons Mills, MA (formerly of Needham, MA) died peacefully on November 5th, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, and was an avid skier and fisherman.   Gary was born April 1, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in North Babylon, NY. Following his graduation from Plymouth State University, Gary became a certified ski instructor and worked year-round traveling between Waterville Valley, NH, Perisher Valley, NSW, Australia, and Taos Ski Valley, NM.  Gary started his career on Wall Street on the OTC Desk before settling in Needham, MA where he raised his family. As a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Advisors for 35 years, Gary was dedicated to his career and serving his clients, many of whom became life-long friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Sandra (McCracken) Breda; his children Marisa B. Hirsch (Scott) of Sherborn, Tamara A. Breda of Newton and Christian L. Breda of Boston; his three granddaughters, Charlotte, Katherine and Caroline Hirsch; his brother Wayne (Sarah); many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; aunts and uncles; cousins; and nieces and nephews.  Gary is predeceased by his mother Dorothy (Fitzgerald) and his father, Egidio. Gary spent many years volunteering his time with the Needham Soccer Club, the Norfolk County Conservation Commission and other sports organizations in which his children participated.  Gary instilled into his children a passion for skiing, and many family vacations were spent on the slopes.  Fishing, surfing, and spending time with his family on his boat on Cape Cod also brought him great joy.  He was a loyal friend and a gentle soul, and he will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham on Friday, November 9th from 4:00-7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Gary L. Breda will be held on Saturday, November 10th at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Parish, 35 S. Main Street, Sherborn.
