Gary Thomas Nichols

Gary Thomas Nichols 74, a longtime resident of Framingham died suddenly on Friday February 3, 2012. Born in Needham, he was the son of the late John C. and Mary Horsford Nichols. He was a 1957 graduate of Needham High School and served 6 years in the Massachusetts National Guard. He worked for Shipley Company in Newton and later in Marlboro for 34 years as a Production Manager and Inventory Controller until he retired in 1991. Gary's great joy in life was watching his grandchildren play sports. Baseball, lacross, soccer, cheerleading and his favorite being hockey where you would find him in the hockey rink every weekend watching as many as 9 games in three days. Nonno was the #1 hockey fan in every rink.

Besides his wife of 49 years, Roberta "Birdie" (Ginsberg) Nichols, he leaves 2 sons, Kevin R. Nichols and his wife Robin and Keith J Nichols and his two sisters Carol Ann Forest and Sandra Brooks. He also leaves his 7 devoted grandchildren; Tyler, Austin, Dylan, Krysta, Morgan, Hunter and Alexis Nichols. He was predeceased by one son Kenneth J. Nichols who died in 1987, one sister Mary E. Nichols Civetti and four brothers, John, Robert, Richard and Daniel Nichols.

Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anselm Church ,100 Landham Rd. in Sudbury on Wednesday February 8th at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. In
