George R. Lawson, 93, passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2026.
George was a lifelong resident of Wellesley, MA, where he graduated from Wellesley High School. Son of Walter and Olive (Kennedy) Lawson of Wellesley, MA. George was a member of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War as a Sargent E-5. He was proud to be a veteran and a lifelong member of the Needham Post 2498. George was also a member of the Brighton Elk’s Club. He was a longtime employee of the Town of Needham at the former Glover Hospital, now Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. George was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox and Patriots.
George was the devoted husband of the late, Pauline (Young) and brother of the late Walter and Olive Lawson, also of Wellesley. He is survived by Virginia Ellis and her husband Rick of Houston, TX, Linda Alexander and her husband Ted of Dedham, MA, and John Young and his wife Susan of Templeton, MA. George had many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He was also a longtime friend of John and Karen Nagle of Milford, MA.
Visitation will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue in Needham, on Thursday, January 22nd from 10:00sm concluding with a service at 11:00am. Military Burial to follow at Needham Cemetery.
