George Sabeh Hawara, 88, devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully in his home in Natick, MA, on May 11, 2023, with his beloved wife Dalal Obagi de Sabeh of 60 years and his family by his side. Georges was born on June 5, 1934, in Aleppo, Syria, and later moved to Caracas, Venezuela, before spending the last several years with his wife in Natick, MA, where he was much closer to his children and grandchildren. He is also survived by his three children Michael, Zouhaida, and Richard. He is survived by his six grandchildren Anthony, Georgio, George, Alexandra, George, and Cristian.
George lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. He touched many lives, and he will be missed by many especially his family and friends. He lit up every room with his sunny smile and always knew how to make people laugh.
Alongside his wife, George had a close devotion to the Catholic faith and would pray every day and attend Sunday mass as his strength would allow it. George made many friends throughout his life and cherished each memory that he made along the way. To his loving grandchildren, George was known as “Jido” which is the Arabic equivalent to “Grandpa”. His strong faith, love, and kindness, will forever remain in his family’s lives.
Visiting Hours are Monday, May 15, 4-7pm at Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave., Needham MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, May 16 at St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave., Needham MA.
