Geraldine "Gerri" Chambers

Mrs. Geraldine Chambers (Gerri) age 82, of Newton, born in Watertown, NY, passed away in Southern California on a family vacation after a lengthy battle with heart disease and lung cancer. The beloved wife of the late Stanley Chambers will be remembered for her strength, courage and her sincere love for her family and friends. Gerri was awarded the Eloise K. Houghton Award several times for being a good neighbor and friend to the Weeks House Community where she lived for 26 years. She loved to quilt, knit and play cards with her friends. She always had her bags packed for a cruise or a quick trip to see Mickey. Gerri was the loving mother of Linda Doyle and son-in-law Robert of Burlington, Mark Chambers and daughter-in-law Debbie of Woburn, Diane Maurice and son-in-law Joe of New Hampshire and the late Douglas Chambers. Gerri was an amazing role model to her grandchildren, Cheryl Sheehan and husband Kevin, Brenda Lessard and husband Greg, Bobby Doyle and wife Stephanie, Paul and James Maurice. Gerri also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many, many foster children.
A funeral service will be held on Fri Aug 27 at 11 AM in the Eaton & Mackay 465 Centre St. NEWTON CORNER. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thurs 4-8 PM.
