Gloria Beall Obituary

Gloria Page Beall 95, longtime resident of Needham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Beloved wife for 69 years of the late James “Jimmie” Beall, devoted mother of Sandra Beall (Bob), Don Beall and Linda Beall (Meg). Gloria was a loving grandmother to Tim Beall, Kathryn Terhune (Greg) and Meghan Beall and a loving great-grandmother to Mattie-James, Shay, Sienna and Summer. Gloria is survived by her dear sister, Marilyn Armstrong, sister-in-law Beverly Eastman Warren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gloria was born in Portland, ME and grew up in Arlington, MA, where she was a 1948 graduate of Arlington High School. After high school she worked at General Alarm Corporation, as a bookkeeper and stenographer. In 1953, she married James Beall and when they decided to have children, Gloria left the corporate workforce to begin her full time vocation of motherhood. She and Jimmie started their family in Lexington and then moved to Needham in 1967, where they raised their children and resided for 52 years.

Gloria was a woman of great strength, kindness, grace and faith. She was quiet, but very present and always ready with a big smile and a hearty laugh. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Needham, where she enjoyed attending services and singing in the choir. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzler, loved watching her kids and grandkids at various sporting events, loved family vacations, loved a nice bowl of ice cream or two and loved playing games with her grandkids, but she would never, ever let them cheat! Gloria was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and we will miss her terribly, but are glad she will be reunited with her dear Jimmie and many family members and friends, who have predeceased her.

Our family would like to thank the Maplewood Brewster Community; past and present staff, residents and residents’ family members, for their kindness, support and friendship over the past several years. We would also like to thank Broadreach Hospice for their exceptional and compassionate care.

Funeral arrangements will be private with burial at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA. To honor Gloria, please give someone a big smile today!
