Gloria Smiroldo, 93 years old of Newton, MA, died peacefully on January 28, 2024, at The Arbors Assisted Living in Stoneham, MA.
Gloria is survived by her son John, daughter-in-law Susane, and their three beautiful children Valentina, Lorenzo, and Antonella, plus relatives in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and other parts of the country. She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Joseph Sr. who died in 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer, her son Joseph Jr., who died in 2021 after a lengthy illness, and her sister Beatrice Campbell who died in 2011.
Gloria was born and raised in Dedham, MA to Joseph and Beatrice (Leveroni) Greer. Gloria and Joseph were married in 1961 and adored each other. Gloria was an amazing Mom: devoted, kind, patient, loving, and selfless. No sacrifice was ever too great, and she joyfully dedicated her entire life to the well-being of her family. She enjoyed being active in her children’s school activities growing up and provided steadfast and loving care and support for her son Joe in his later years. She loved her grandchildren deeply and cherished spending time with them.
A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Parish, Newton Centre, MA, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Feb 3, 2024, preceded by a viewing in the vestibule of the church from 9:30 to 10:30AM.
