Henrietta Jeanne (Andruszewski) Zadroga

Henrietta Jeanette (Andruszewski) Zadroga, 92, of Needham Heights, died peacefully at her home Monday, December 12, 2011.

Henrietta was born on November 28, 1919 in Chelsea, Mass. of Catherine and Stanley Andruszewski.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Joseph Zadroga; her sons, Joseph Zadroga and his wife Vivian of Conway, Mass.; William Zadroga of Pembroke, Mass.; John Zadroga of Needham Heights. She enjoyed eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother John Andrus of Stoneham, MA and sister Theresa Chotkowski of Woburn, MA. Her neice, Basia Zadroga Greenberg of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, was like a daughter to her.

She was predeceased by her son Stephen and her brother Edward.

Henrietta attended Chelsea schools. She liked to participate in spelling bees and was quite good at it. On her 80th birthday she had fun spelling words like Mississippi for her guests. She worked at General Electric and for the Necco Candy Wafers Co. and Schrafts Chocolates. She enjoyed reading non-fiction, biographies of movie stars, and politicians. She liked to crochet in her free time but with four boys she spent a lot of time caring for her family.

Eaton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Calling hours will be Thursday, Dec. 15 from 4-8 p.m. A mass will be held on Friday, Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church in Newton, followed by internment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Needham.
