James Salvatore Palma, 89, of Newton Center, April 16th, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 55 years of the late Barbara (Jones) Palma. He is survived by his children Bruce Palma of Marlboro, Brian Palma and his wife Janine of Illinois, Linda Palma of Marlboro, Brad Palma of Boston, Laura Dillon and her husband Michael of Dedham, and Lisa Palma of Pennsylvania. Brother of the late Josephine Doyle and her late husband Francis. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 Great grandchildren. Uncle of David Doyle and his wife Maria of Brockton.
James was the #3 charter member of Millwright Local 1121. He loved the views from his New Hampshire home that he built and the crisp mountain air. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, ski mobiles, and hiking trails.
Visitation will be held in the Eaton and Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre St, NEWTON CORNER, on Thursday, April 22nd from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Sacred Heart Church, 1317 Centre St, Newton Center, on Friday at 10:30am. All attendees must wear facemasks and follow COVID-19 protocols. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in James’ name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
