Jean A. (Patten) Cavanaugh, a resident of Needham for over 50 years, died Sun May 29, 2011 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical center West Campus in Boston. She was 85.
Born and raised in Waltham, she graduated from Waltham High School. She was an active volunteer for the Needham Community Council and had been recognized by the as a “Volunteer of the Year”.
Jean was the wife of the late Albert V. Cavanaugh, and is survived by her children Donald V. Cavanaugh of The Villages, FL, Richard A. Cavanaugh of Sarasota, FL, Laurie O’Connor of Weymouth, Jane Lavalle of Cambridge and John M. Cavanaugh of Harvard. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and was pre deceased by 5 sisters and a brother.
Her funeral will be from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Fri June 3 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church Needham at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Thurs 4-8 PM. Interment will take place on Fri at 1:30 in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
