Jean E. Ganley, 84, of Needham died January 25, 2011 at North Hill Rehabilitation Facility in Needham. Born in Newton to Anna Elizabeth (Jenkins) Ganley and John Frederick Ganley, Jean was the eldest of five children. A graduate of Newton High School, Jean went on to pursue a career in the dental field. A Needham resident since 1961, she worked for both the Tufts University School of Dentistry and the Boston University School of Dentistry. She was a friendly and outgoing neighbor and since retirement has been active at the Needham Senior Center. Always looking out for others and of a generous spirit, Jean will be remembered fondly by all those who knew her.
Jean is survived by her brother, William Ganley and his wife Lucetta as well as many adoring nieces and nephews: Amiee (Ganley) Munro of Wellesley; Douglas Ganley of New York City; Laura Countryman of Duanesburg, NY; Beth Feeley of Woodbridge, VA; Ricky Feeley of Seffner, FL; Todd Feeley of Florida; Bill Chandler of Palo Alto, CA; and Debra Chandler of Seffner, FL. She is also survived by twelve grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother John Frederick Ganley Jr. and his son, David Ganley; her sisters Nancy (Ganley) Chandler and Priscilla (Ganley) Watson.
Funeral Services will be held at the Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut St Newton on Saturday January 29 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday from 3-6 PM. Interment Newton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name be made to the Needham Council on Aging 83 Pickering St, Needham MA 02492.
