Jean Edna Osborn

Jean Edna Osborn passed away on February 23rd, 2023, after a brief illness. Jean is greatly missed by all her family and many friends.

Born in Medford on March 31, 1929, she was the daughter of Lewis and Edna Gavel.   She graduated from Boston University, and became Registrar at the School of Theology, and then at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge.  

What brought Jean the most joy in life were her family, her children, and wonderful friends, with whom she kept in touch, and later in life, her career.  She was sensitive to others and loved volunteering at various places throughout the years but especially enjoyed children.  

Jean is survived by her three sons, Robert, Steven, Russel, her daughter Nancy, and a special daughter-in-law, Lynne who took great care of her with fresh flowers, shopping and visits. She had three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on June 21st, 2023 at the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Highland Ave, Needham Heights, MA 02494 with a light refreshments to follow at the church.
