Jean T. (McIsaac) Waters, a lifelong resident of Newton, died on July 9, 2012, after a courageous struggle with cancer. She passed away with her family surrounding her in Maine, after spending the July 4th holidays with her family in Kennebunkport Maine.
Born in Newton in 1927, Jean was the widow of James P. D. Waters, Esq. They were married for 58 years before his death in 2009. They met at Newton High School, where Jean graduated in 1946. Jean then went on to graduate from Burdette School of Business, and then proceeded to work for a period of time as a legal secretary at Ropes & Gray in Boston. Jean was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish in Newton Centre, where she served on numerous volunteer and charitable committees sponsored by the church. She was a board member of the Guild of Saint Francis for several decades. Jean devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Jean leaves behind her three daughters and their families, including Patricia J. Ellis and her husband Nathan of Newton, Jacqueline A. Waters Adams and her husband Paul J. of Natick and Elizabeth E. Jones of Newton; her grandchildren Nathan, Kathryn and Elizabeth Ellis, Julianne and James Adams and Meredith Jones. Jean also leaves her brother James F. McIsaac of Newton. She was the daughter of the late Alexander F. McIsaac and Evelyn S. (Morgan) McIsaac.
Her funeral will be from the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. NEWTON CORNER on Fri July 13 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church Newton Centre at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Thurs 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery.
