Jeanne S. Leonard was born in Boston, to the late John and Margaret (Horan) Stanton. She was the middle of five Stanton girls, residing in Brighton, and educated at St. Columbkille Elementary and High School. Jeanne’s faith and family sustained her and were her center.

Jeanne was the loving wife of the late James Leonard and the devoted mother to the late Deborah Leonard. She was the cherished mother of Mary Lou (Leonard) Regan (Milton) and James Leonard (Dedham). She leaves behind her dear sister, Margaret “Peggy” Finn, and many nieces and nephews.

She was the beloved grandmother to Meredith Regan Ryan and Christopher Regan and Matthew, Michael and Ryan Leonard. She had ten great grandchildren in less than seven years and they brought her so much laughter and joy. Regan and Mackenzie Ryan, Morgan, James, Benedict, Dominic, Ambrose, Elizabeth, Graham and William Leonard loved Gram and will miss her so much.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jim, daughter, Debbie and sisters Mary May McDonough, Marion Lambert and Barbara Ann McCarthy.

As an adult, Jeanne resided in Norwood, Barnstable Village and in the last ten years at Fuller Village in Milton. She worked for many years at Camp Dresser and McKee, an engineering firm in Boston. She will be remembered for her energetic nature, love of gardening, dancing and for her kindness and generosity.

Visiting Hours will be in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Avenue, Needham, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 9:30-10:45, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham, at 11am. Burial at The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne is private on a later date.
