Joan M. Patsos

Patsos Joan M. (Kenney) of Hingham, formerly of Scituate and Boston, died peacefully on Sept 22, 2011. Joan was born in Newton, MA in 1935, to her parents Thomas and Theresa Kenney. She was the devoted mother of Terri (George) Stanley of Norwell, MA, Christopher Patsos (Denise) of Middletown, RI, Diane M. (Dale) MacDonald of Raleigh, NC and James Patsos (Michele) of Baltimore, MD and the loving grandmother of Viktor, Anna, Derek and Lesley. Joan attended Regis College and Katherine Gibbs School. Joan spent many years in Scituate and Boston's Back Bay. She loved travel, art, culture and spending time at the beach. Her most enjoyable time was spent with her loving family. In addition to her four children and four grandchildren Joan is survived by her brother Thomas Kenney and sister-in-law, Delores Kenney, her sister Margaret Dowd and brother-in-law Michael Dowd, sister-in-law Elise Kenney (wife of the late Colonel Donald Kenney) and sister-in-law Ruth Kenney (wife of the late Paul Kenney). In addition, Joan leaves an extended family of nieces and nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends who will miss her love and laughter. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Norwell VNA Hospice Care and her nurses, Beth Hurley, Judy Stratton and Anne Vegnani, along with Donald and Nikki Lowe and all the people who helped take care of our mother and make her comfortable in the last few years of her life. Joan's funeral will be from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave (Exit 19B off Rte 128) NEEDHAM on Tues Sept 27 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Mon 4-8 PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery Needham.
