John Francis Lovett of Millis, Massachusetts, formerly of Needham for 44 years, died December 7, 2024. He was born in the Chelsea Naval Hospital, Chelsea, Massachusetts on September 6, 1946 to John and Anne (Megevick) Lovett. John spent his childhood moving around while his father was in the Navy, finally ending up in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania where he graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg in 1964. John graduated from Northeastern University in Boston in 1969 with a BS in Finance and in 1976 with an MBA. He served in the US Army Reserves for 6 years during the Vietnam War. He worked for Aetna Insurance Company, GTE Sylvania, Digital Equipment Corporation, IBM Consulting, and Raytheon Company. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann; daughter Kristen (Steve), son Jonathan (Caroline) and 4 granddaughters: Dakoda and Ryley Lawrence, and Raegan and Madelyn Lovett. He was predeceased by a grandson, Gage Terpstra. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Lovett, a niece Lilli Buell, a grandniece Caroline Buell and grandnephew Alex Buell all of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
John was a good and kind man who always saw the best in everyone. He will be so missed by those he loved and those who loved him.
A burial service will be held in the spring on a date to be determined.
