John E. Schroeder

John E. Schroeder passed away on September 14, 2021 at home in Westwood, Massachusetts at the age of 87.
Mr. Schroeder retired from Marsh & McLennan as Managing Director in January 2000. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Principal with Johnson & Higgins. Many of the insurance programs he created, especially in the health care community, are still functioning successfully today.
Mr. Schroeder was born in Brooklyn, New York and educated at Tulane University, Queens College, Boston University, and received a Masters of Business Administration from Babson College. He graduated from the United States Infantry Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, Georgia, as a second Lieutenant. Following active duty he served as a member of the 77th Infantry Division in New York. He was discharged with the rank of Captain.
Mr. Schroeder is survived by his wife of 64 years, Luciene Schroeder, two children, Elizabeth Schroeder, Ruth Georgevits and her husband John, and grandchildren Margaret Georgevits, Thomas Georgevits and his wife Stephanie and one great grandson, Asher Georgevits.
Throughout his life, Mr. Schroeder enjoyed golf, ski trips to New Hampshire and Utah, reading, music, and swimming, as well as family dinners and celebrations.
