John Zajonc Obituary

John S. Zajonc of Hingham, formerly of Needham passed away on Aug 7, 2025. He was eighty-seven.

John was born in Erie Mine, PA and was a graduate of Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA. John was proud of his service in the US Army during the Vietnam era rising to the rank of Captain. His career as a project manager spanned over 30 years for the Gillette Co in South Boston. He was a Needham resident from 1968 until moving to Hingham in 2024 and in his spare time was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking.

John was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Bird) Zajonc and the late Susan (Fuccillo) Zajonc. He is survived by his children Lisa Zajonc and John Zajonc and his grandchildren, Christian Abbate and his wife Meaghan and Alyssa Abbate.

A visiting hour will be held on Monday Aug 11 from 8:30 until 9:30 in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bartholomew Church, Greendale Ave Needham at 10 AM. Following the Mass John will be interred with US Army Military Honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of John to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 would be appreciated.
