Jones Wing Obituary

Jones D. Wing, known as Jonesy to his friends, was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Born on June 27, 1931, and passed away at his home in Newton, Massachusetts, on January 21, 2026.

After graduating from Arlington High School, Jonesy proudly served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954 with the rank of Corporal. Determined to continue his education upon returning home, he went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Jonesy spent more than 40 years at EG&G in Burlington, Massachusetts, as a senior engineer.

Jonesy took great pride in his service and had a lifelong love for meat and potatoes, cars (the faster the better), sports, and junk food. His favorite of all sports, ice hockey, led him to play well into his 80’s.

Jonesy is survived by his wife of Elizabeth of 66 1/2 years, his son David Wing of Marstons Mills, MA, his daughter Karen Wing of Stamford, CT and his son JP Wing and his wife Hidy of Hanover, MA. He has five grandchildren that he adored: Tyler Brophy, Jake Brophy, Adam Brophy, Samantha Wing, Alexander Wing and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Jones M and Lenore Wing, four sisters Doris, Evelyn, Nancy & Eugenia, two brothers Tony & Ewing and two cousins Walter and James.
