Our Dearest Kathleen: Mother. Grandmother. Sister. Daughter. Friend. We write you this letter because we want to tell you how much we love you. How much we miss you. How much we have learned from you. And how you have made our lives better, richer, more extraordinary. You gave us your heart; your kindness; your endless generosity…and your biting sarcasm.
You were a devoted mother and grandmother. You gave everything to make sure all was ok. A fierce love. Camping at Nickerson, hotly contested games of scrabble, and sea turtles. Oh, the sea turtles: on blankets and on drawings from Nathaniel.
You were our sounding board to help us figure out what was the right thing to do. You had unwavering and faithful devotion to our parents in their later years when they needed you most. There were great times and great songs like Jeff Beck’s Cause We Ended as Lovers and the entire and replayed and replayed Man of La Mancha. We will smile each time we hear them; we think you will smile too. You wanted iced coffee from Dunkies when you were discharged; we hope the iced coffee flows freely where you are now.
We are blessed beyond measure and will spend the rest of our days with you in our hearts. You inspired us with your loving heart. There is no person more kind, unselfish and compassionate.
You left us on April 1, 2022 and we grieve – oh we grieve. In some ways you are gone; but in many ways you are here with us as we walk our own steps in our own journeys. We will be warmed by your memories. We will be wiser because of what you taught us. We will treasure moments because you will be in our thoughts. The angel in you becomes the better angel in us all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Av, Needham, on Saturday, April 9th at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow at Needham Cemetery. For obituary, directions or to share a memory of Kathleen, please visit www.eatonfuneralhomes.com
