Kendrew “Ken” Caporal, 61 of Brookline, MA passed away on April 24, 2023.
Born on January 8,1962, Ken was a lifetime resident of Brookline, MA. He attended Brookline public schools and graduated from Northeastern University.
For the last 23 years, Ken lived with a full house community in a Brookline Specialized Housing home and was a regular around Washington Square and the Green Line. He worked for 29 years as a mailman for the Tufts Medical Center Ophthalmology department.
Ken was an active and dedicated member of All Saints Parish in Brookline. He was a member of many advocacy groups related to people living with disabilities, winning many awards and traveling as far as Washington DC and London.
A Boston sports enthusiast, Ken hardly ever missed a Red Sox, Celtics or Patriots game. Ken was a champion ping pong and Scrabble player, enjoyed playing the French horn, loved 1960’s and 1970’s music and being with his family in the summer at their Elm Point Camp on Lake Winnipesaukee. He may be best remembered for his sense of humor, puns being his specialty. Always generous and willing to help, anyone who met Ken was an instant fan.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lois Kendrew Caporal and Lawrence Caporal Jr of Brookline and Wolfeboro, NH respectively. He leaves his siblings, Cynthia Tamkin and her husband Jonathan of Needham, MA, sister Laura Geilen and her husband Mario of Hillsdale, NY, and brother Bruce Caporal and his wife Michelle of Waltham, MA, and 8 loving nieces/nephews, 3 grandnieces/nephews and countless friends.
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at All Saints Parish on Beacon Street, 1773 Beacon Street, Brookline MA at 11AM on Saturday May 6, 2023.
