Kenneth Jay Seaman II, 44 of Dover, MA died July 19, 2011. While he suffered from and continued to courageously fight base of tongue cancer, his death was sudden and unexpected. Ken lived most of his life in Dover and was a business consultant for John Hancock in Boston.
Ken loved to read and was a writer, having previously been a reporter for the Cape Codder, Worth, and Boston Magazine. He was also an ardent sports enthusiast. Ken played football and was a heavy weight wrestler on his high school teams at Rivers School where he graduated in 1985. He previously attended Dexter School where he was a Massasoit. He graduated from Bates College as a member of the class of 1989 where he played rugby. Ken loved all Boston sports teams. He enjoyed going to Patriots’ games and especially relished in the tailgating prior to the game. As a lover of food and cooking, Ken took great pride in the meals he created for the tailgates, holidays with families and spur of the moment get togethers with friends. He was proud of his lawn and garden. His love of pigs was apparent in the weather vane atop his garage. Ken was also poker enthusiast and enjoyed trips to Foxwoods which he was able to do the day before he died.
Ken was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Jill D (Coppelman) and his 14-month old daughter Morgan Lillie. Nothing meant more to him than his beautiful baby girl and found his strength to fight his cancer through her. Ken is survived by his parents Kenneth and Judith Ann (Kipp) Seaman of Dover and Welfleet, MA; his brother Christopher Seaman and his wife Donna of Tarpon Springs,FL; his wife’s parents Daniel and Jean (Feigenbaum) Coppelman of Eastham and Boston, MA; his brother-in-law Jeffery Coppelman and his wife Alysia of Wilton, CT. Ken was the loving uncle to Isabella, Tyler, Trey and Nicholas.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Dover Church, 17 Springdale Ave Dover on Friday, July 22 at 10AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton and Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre Street NEWTON CORNER, on Thursday from 4- 7 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery in Dover. In lieu of flowers donations in Ken’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
