Kerry Muzyka Obituary

On June 15, 2024 an angel departed, Her name is Kerry Barbara (Noll) Muzyka. 71 years young, she passed peacefully from a heart attack in her sleep. With a head adorned of flowing strands of gold, eyes twinkling like the sun on the water, and a presence like a warm summer’s night, Kerry comforted, inspired, and nourished us all with a grace and poise never to be matched.

Kerry was born on December 22, 1952 to Katherine and Michael P. Noll in Kansas City, Kansas.  After her father unexpectedly passed away, her family moved to Greenwich, Connecticut.  Her mother remarried to Robert T.  Kenworthy, President of Robert T.  Kenworthy, Inc, international exposition managers. Kerry attended and graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Connecticut, which she cherished.

1971 was a pivotal year in Kerry’s life. Not only was she presented at the Gotham Ball at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, but the debutant also met the love of her life, Tom  Muzyka  at  the US Merchant Marine Academy through her brother Peter. While she studied English and Art at Beaver College in Glenside, Pennsylvania, she exchanged letters with her future husband. The joyous humor and earnest exchanges would signify the beautiful life they would create together.

After graduating college, she joined her stepfather’s company as an Executive Assistant, starting her short career in international exposition management performing sales, organizing exhibitors, and managing floor plans. Her short career segued into her most cherished chapter: becoming a wife and mother.

Kerry and Tom enshrined their love through marriage on the Main Altar at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City in 1976.  They gave each other their vows and began their matrimony with a honeymoon in Hawaii.

Kerry and Tom relocated to Natick, MA before they found their home in Dover, MA. Over the years, Kerry transformed an ample plot of modest landscaping into a veritable Garden of Eden. Here they raised their sons, Mark and Robert. Kerry embodied all of the virtues one could ask for a mother: loving, kind, compassionate, supportive, understanding, adventurous, and strong. The only time she raised her voice was to call out and find where her children had disappeared. When her sons earned her disapproval, she simply talked in a calm, quiet tone followed by a silence that corrected any bad behavior. Should the troubles of the world dishearten her sons, she provided the respite through caring attention, ameliorative discussion, and hugs that could mend a shattered spirit. The upbringing she provided for her children overflows with cherished memories of happiness, playfulness, humor, and love.

But her touch was not limited to her family, friends and strangers alike were greeted with a radiant smile and a friendly “Good Day!” Showering all with her nurturing spirit, listening to everyone’s daily trials and tribulations, providing her honest input and reassurance, and gifting all with chocolates and trinkets every holiday, she left an impression that none forgot.

Shortly after her sons graduated college, Kerry returned to work as Office Manager for the Boston Maritime law firm of Clinton & Muzyka, P.C. where she has kept the firm on an even keel. Beyond her work and family, Kerry took a myriad of interests: horseback riding, traveling the world with her family, interior decorating, penning thoughtful poetry and prose, exploring the glory of nature,  fly fishing with her husband, getting lost in a good book, spending time at the beach with her family, volunteering to serve the community, garnishing the house with decorations for holiday festivities, relaxing with a good Hallmark movie, and dazzling all with her floral designs whether it be her work with the Powisset Garden Club for their award-winning submissions to the New England Flower Show, the alters of her church, or the prestigious Dover House Tour.

Kerry is survived by her husband, Tom Muzyka, of Dover; her son, Mark Muzyka and his wife Alexandria Quayle of Dover; her son, Robert Muzyka and his wife Rose Muzyka and grandson Leon of Sherborn; her brother Michael P. Noll, Jr. and his wife Patti of Palm City, Florida and their children Michael P. Noll, III of Fort Collins, Colorado, Kelly Noll of Hartford, Connecticut, and Amy Johnson and her husband Travis and their daughter, Kiara Johnson of Palm City, Florida.
