Kevin Grealish Obituary

Kevin John Grealish of Westwood passed away peacefully with family at his side on August 25, 2022 from renal cancer at age 64. Born September 8, 1957 in Braintree, Kevin is a 1975 graduate of Braintree High School. Kevin attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute and graduated in 1979 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He went on to earn master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University and electro-optics from Tufts.

After graduating from WPI, Kevin worked as a structural engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Connecticut for two years. He moved to Denver to work as an engineer at Martin Marietta. While living there, he spent much of his time pursuing his lifelong passion for skiing, and he met his wife Andrea at Copper Mountain. Once married, they returned to Massachusetts to settle in Westwood where they had two daughters, Aly and Katey. This is when Kevin began at B.A.E. Systems, where he worked for 35 years until his death, starting as an engineer and lastly as a technical director.

In addition to skiing, Kevin loved windsurfing, road biking, and mountain biking. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends to West Dennis and Chapin Beach in Dennis, MA and the Outer Banks in North Carolina. He frequently returned to Copper Mountain and traveled to New Hampshire and Maine with his family to ski. He was an active member of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist church in Needham, serving as both Treasurer and President, religious education teacher, and participating in small group ministry. In recent years, he also invested himself in political action with Force Multiplier and climate advocacy with Fridays For The Future.

Kevin is survived by his wife Andrea and daughters Aly and Katey, as well as Aly’s husband Greg Marchese. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Reincke. Kevin was predeceased by his sister Sheila Bestick, father Frank Grealish, and stepfather Fritz Reincke. Kevin is also survived by many extended family members.
