Kevin K. MacDonald of Needham passed away after lengthy illness, on Tuesday, March 11th at home with his wife by his side. He was 73 years old. Born in Boston, Kevin was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Kelly) MacDonald. Kevin was a graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1969 and attended Boston State College. He worked most of his life as a long-distance truck driver and later in life worked as a laborer in the construction field. Kevin enjoyed tinkering with cars and was a New England Patriots (Tom Brady ) fan. He was a kind man, always offering to help a friend in need.
Above all else, Kevin loved his family and his favorite thing to do was to just be with them.
Kevin was the beloved husband for 52 years of his devoted wife Mora MacDonald. He was the loving father of Stewart MacDonald of Hudson and Kelly Carlin and her husband Robert of Walpole and the grandfather of Kevin, Michael, Brendan and Nicholas Carlin. Kevin was the brother of Paul MacDonald and his wife Michele of Centerville and the late Charles MacDonald and his surviving wife Corinne of Needham. The brother-in-law of Richard and Sandra MacDonald and Beth Lorraine and Robert Timmerman all of Needham, Kevin is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Friday, March 28th at 11am. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11am prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kevin’s name may be made Newton Covenant Church, 959 Watertown St, Newton MA 02465.
