Leonard J. "Lenny" Puza Sr., a Needham resident for over 60 years died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at his home. He was 91 years old. Lenny was born in Detroit Michigan, the son of the late Kazmierz and Stanistawa (Zapolska) Puza. He was a proud US Navy World War II Veteran. He served as a motor mechanic and gunner on LST456 in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he worked as a mechanic for White Brothers Milk and the Gabriel Electronics. He was the owner for 19 years of Leonard's Lunch, formerly located in Newton Upper Falls. He retired from Decatur Hopkins in Needham in 1987. Lenny was a member of American Legion Post 14 and the Needham VFW. The beloved husband of the late Evelyn M. (Childs), he was the Father of Leonard J. Puza Jr. and his wife Annmarie Ryan of Chatham, Carol J. Puza and her husband Michael Olendzenski of Plymouth and Leigh J. Puza and his wife Laura of Needham. Brother of the late Kazmire, Raymond, Anna and Rita, he is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Saturday November 19 at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment with Military Honors at Needham Cemetery.
