Louise Cahaly of Newton, 86, died peacefully on Sunday, July 3 in her home surrounded by her loving daughters. Louise was born and educated in Greenville, South Carolina and moved to Boston in 1951 when she married the love of her life, Victor. Louise was a dedicated homemaker who raised her family through love and laughter and continued doing so for 21 years after losing her husband. She lived a long, happy and loving life, was an accomplished cook and wove together an insulated, devoted family. Beloved wife of the late Victor M. Cahaly, devoted mother of four daughters and adoring grandmother of nine she leaves behind daughter Patricia C. Smith and her children Robert and Rebecca of Newton, daughter Phyllis M. Cahaly of Newton, daughter Janice C. Apostolopoulos and husband John and their children Peter, Victor and Nicole of Burlington; daughter Donna C. Whitham and husband Les and their children Leslie Carl, Victoria, Amanda and Douglas of Newton. She also leaves behind many friends, nieces, nephews, and relatives including brothers Edward C. Cahaly and Phillip C. Cahaly of South Carolina. At the family’s request, there will be a private burial. Friends and family are welcome to join in a “Celebration for the Love of Lou” on Friday, July 8 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Newton Marriott, 2345 Commonwealth Ave., Newton.
