Margaret Eulalia Anderson, known to all those who loved her as Peggy, died peacefully on November 4, 2011 after a five-year battle dealing with the effects of encephalitis.
She was the beloved wife of Duncan Wood Anderson, to whom she had been married for 63 years.
Born in Boston on January 27, 1931, as Margaret Eulalia Athy, she was the daughter of the late John J. Athy of County Mayo, Ireland and Nora (Honour) Athy of County Galway, Ireland.
Peggy grew up in Brookline and was an honor roll student, graduating from Saint Mary's High School in Brookline in 1948. She was a member of their high school band and debate team.
Peggy married Duncan Wood Anderson on June 11, 1948.
For many years, Peggy was employed at the A&P Markets as a secretary. She was also the East Coast Office Manager for Carr Lane Manufacturing for 22 years before retiring in 1996.

She was one of the four founders of the Needham Girls Softball League, serving on the board for four years and was the manager of the Falcons Softball Team for two years.
Peggy lived in Needham with her husband Duncan for 52 years before moving briefly to Lincoln NH, and then settling in Plymouth, where she has been a resident for the past 13 years.
