Margaret "Peg" (Gallant) Finnegan

Margaret (Gallant) “Peg” Finnegan of Needham died on Saturday, June 19 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. She was 85 years old. Born in South Boston, Margaret moved to Prince Edward Island at the age of 2. At the age of 18, she returned to the US and settled in Sudbury. Her working years were spent in business working as an Executive Secretary and Office Manager. Peg moved to Needham in 1976 and in 1981 she married her beloved husband Joe. Mrs. Finnegan was a faithful parishioner of Saint Joseph Parish and an active volunteer for the Needham Community Council. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Finnegan. Dear daughter of the late Cornelius and Christina (Smith) Gallant, she was the loving sister of Sister Bernadette Gallant, CND, of Rustico, Prince Edward Island Canada and the late Beatrice MacPhee, Marion Sanderson, Anna McAuley, Mary Younglove, Cornelia Steeves, Earl, Elegius and John Gallant. Peg is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in the US and Canada. Her Funeral will be held from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Wednesday June 23 at 10:30 Am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
