Margherita (Salvucci) Tedford Rufo

 Margherita Salvucci Tedford Rufo, of Newton, MA formerly of Brighton, passed away on March 11th 2025 at the age of 91. 

Margherita graduated from Brighton High in 1951and Burdett Business College. She worked John Hancock Insurance Co. and then for over 25 years in the business office at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton. She also worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Boston Flower Exchange.

Daughter of the late Joe and Josephine Salvucci, sister of Daniel Salvucci and his wife Joan Salvucci of Needham, the late Loretta Isom of Newport RI, and her infant sister Margherita, who passed away in San Donato, Italy on December 21, 1931. Beloved wife of the late Antonio Rufo and the late George Tedford. She was the amazing mother of George Tedford and his wife Mary of Walpole, Andrea Tedford and her companion Bettyann of Mansfield, and Dina Tedford of Newton. Loving grandmother to her four treasures, Amanda and her husband Paul Piantedosi of Waltham, Georgie Tedford of Chelsea, and Brittany Tedford of Jackson, Wyoming and a proud great grandmother of Rosaleen, Ava, Ellie, and Teddy Piantedosi.

Margherita was an avid reader and loved film noir movies. She also enjoyed a good time out especially at a casino. She loved life.

Our beloved Nana will be missed dearly.  

There will be visiting hours on Fri Mar 14 from 11- 12:45 in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner followed by a graveside service at Newton Cemetery at 1 PM.
