Marie Riccio Obituary

Marie (Maclone) Riccio, 89, formerly of Chestnut Hill and Newton, died on Jan. 25, 2011 at Epoch Senior Health Care of Weston.
Marie was born in Boston and graduated from Brighton High School, and Framingham State College. She taught in the Boston Public Schools, at Lasell College and evenings with the Newton Adult Education program and at the Pomeroy House in Newton. Marie loved music and sang with the Newton Jazz Band at the Newton Senior Center and in the choir at Corpus Christi Church in Auburndale. She was also very fashionable and made clothing for her daughter and had designed many pieces of clothing. Marie also enjoyed visiting the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Riccio. Caring and loving mother of Michael J. of Rolling Hills Estates, CA and Donna Abdel-Malak and her husband Monir of Waltham. Grandmother of Kerry Riccio Aguero and her husband Mark and Kristina Riccio and great grandmother of Elena all of CA. She is also survived by her sisters in law Midge Maclone, Millie Robinson and Ann Riccio and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre St., NEWTON CORNER, on Sat., Jan. 29 at 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi Church, Ash St, Auburndale at Noon. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be Fri. 4-7 PM.
