Marjorie C. Wey, retired, died on Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a short illness. She was 86. Previously, she was a resident of Needham for 46 years and was a long time member of the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church in Needham.
Born in Brockton, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Chin Dong Ying and Rose Leung She. She graduated from Brockton High School, helped manage the family restaurant business, and was a part-time jewelry model. She later worked in the accounting dept. at WCVB-TV 5 for many years before retiring in 1992.
Mrs. Wey leaves behind her two daughters, Susan W. Crum and her husband Bill of Weston, Amy W. Turner and her husband Bill of Colorado Springs, CO, a son, Philip D. Wey, M.D. and his wife Elizabeth of Princeton, NJ, and five grandsons: Andrew Turner and his wife Melissa, Matthew Turner, Joshua Turner, Nicholas Wey and Alexander Wey. She is survived by her brother, Henry C. Young of Yarmouthport, and four sisters, June Wong of Needham, Mildred Nistico of Wilmington, Maya Yao (Almeida CA), and Virginia Aspesi of NY. She was predeceased by her husband, James S. Wey, a brother, Stanley Chin Ying of Brockton, and two sisters, Helen Wong (Los Altos, CA), Pauline Wang (Lincoln, MA).
A private burial will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday Aug. 14th, at the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church, 800 Highland Ave., Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carter Methodist Church. Arrangements by Eaton Funeral Home Needham.
