Mark Crowley of Needham died on Monday, June 13, 2011. He was 49 years old. Born in Boston, Mark grew up in Needham. He was a graduate of Noble and Greenough Class of 1981, where he was an ISL All-Star defenseman. He attended the University of Maine and was a member of the varsity hockey team. Mark was a diehard sports fan who loved following the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox. He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, camping, whitewater rafting and loved to relax at the beach. He relished being surrounded by his family and spending time with his many friends and his soul mate, Cindy. He will be missed forever and remembered by all. Mark is survived by his parents, Donald P. and Loretta (Hughes) Crowley of Needham, his loving companion Cindy Bielski of Needham, siblings Donald P. Crowley Jr. of Needham, Mary J. Guarente of Wellesley, Patricia Hegarty of Needham, Jeffrey Crowley of San Diego CA and the late David H. Crowley. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews. His funeral will be from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday, June 17 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
