Mark S. Driscoll of Needham and Millis, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Mark lost his battle with an extremely rare and aggressive form of lung disease. He was born in Boston to Walter and Margaret Driscoll on March 30, 1962.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of West Newton and Millis, MA, daughters Amy and Nicole, and Son-in-Law, David Antonellis. He is also survived by his brothers David and Walter Driscoll, his sister Sharon O’Brien, and sister Theresa Morales. He is predeceased by his brother Alan Driscoll. Mark is also survived by many loving relatives and close friends.
Mark was always full of life and always knew how to bring a smile to people’s faces. His quick wit and humor will be remembered by all. Some of his favorite activities included fishing, swimming, BBQ-ing, and woodburning. Mark devoted a lot of time improving the Needham community. He was a member of Needham Opportunities Inc., a board member of the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance, and was an active member of the Needham Tenants Organization.
Services will be held at Eaton Funeral Home in Needham, MA, on Wednesday January 19, 2011 from 4-8. Those who are wishing to say thoughts of remembrance will have the opportunity to speak at 7PM.
Unfortunately, Mark has been down a very long and difficult road this past year. With this difficult time has come an immense amount of medical expenses. The family is asking for donations in lieu of flowers to help alleviate these medical costs.
