Sunday morning, June 23, 2024, Mary A. (St Croix) Discepolo, of Needham passed away at home while surrounded by family. She was 82 years old.
Mary, the most loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother is survived by her husband of 61 years, Rino. Children: Rina and wife Christine of Needham, Liana and husband Matthew of Andover, John and wife Shay of Wellington, Florida, grandchildren, Michela Caffrey, Natalie Caffrey, Sophia Caffrey, Tyler Discepolo and Rylan Discepolo, and sister Judith Puopolo of Winthrop.
Mary was born and raised in East Boston, where she met and fell in love with her husband Rino. They were married in 1963 and started a family shortly thereafter. They shared a dream to move out of the city to the suburbs to raise their family. They moved to Needham in 1970 and raised their three children.
Mary was big hearted and vibrant, and radiated light. She accepted everyone with a warm, open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who was always there when needed, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Full of love, laughter, and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her love of music, dancing, singing, family and most of all, love.
Visiting hours will be in the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Saturday, June 29th from 8:30-10:15 AM followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment at Needham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please remember Mary by donating to WGBH, the American Cancer Society, the Massachusetts Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) or having a tree planted in her name.
