Mary Lawson Obituary

Mary C. (Cagliuso) Lawson, aged 93, passed away at her home at North Hill Retirement Community in Needham on Thursday, December 1, 2011. She was a former longtime resident of Medford, Lexington and Eastham. Born in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elvira (Belluto) Cagliuso.
A graduate of Medford High, Mary was a former chemist and homemaker. In 1977 she and her late husband, Melvin A. Lawson, started Adhesive Packaging Specialties, Inc.
Mary loved people. She volunteered at SNF at North Hill to deliver mail to the residents and always stayed to chat and brighten their day. She also took a lot of time to get to know the various people that she came in contact with in her life. She spent many years on Cape Cod in Eastham. She loved to pick beach plums and make jam; walk to the cranberry bogs and enjoy the beach- especially the sunsets at Rock Harbor in Orleans.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin A. Lawson. Mary is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. (Lawson) Nelson and her husband Carl of Wellesley and granddaughter, Kristen Nelson. Mary was the oldest of five children. She was the sister of the late, Mildred "Millie" Dellisola , Katherine "Kay" Giambusso, Frank Cagliuso and George Cagliuso. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, & cousins. Mary's Memorial Service will be held at Westgate Church, 100 Winter Street, Weston on Tuesday, December 6th at 10 AM Burial Services will follow immediately thereafter at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. In lieu of flowers donations in Mary's name may be made to MetroWest Baptist Church
