Mary MacDonald Obituary

Mary M., MacDonald, 92, a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Newton Centre, died on Feb 17, 2011 at the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley.
Mary graduated from Sacred Heart School and attended Burdett Business School. She was a member of the choir and the Guild of St. Francis at Sacred Heart Parish. She worked for many years as a secretary for Dr. Heath in Newtonville and for over 20 years as a secretary for the Newton Public Schools. She had also volunteered at the Newton Wellesley Hospital and for Meals on Wheels.
Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Duncan and Margaret A. (Dunn) MacDonald, and is survived by her dear cousins Marion MacDonald Cowan, Lesley Cowan, Christina Cowan, Ronald MacDonald and family, Jean Gillis and Joan Gillis. Lifelong friend of the late Ruth and Tom Stuart Sr. and their family: Tom Stuart and Ernie Gilbert, Dick Stuart and Raina and Alison, Chuck Stuart and Kay and Tara, Matt and Sarah.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed Feb 23 at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Newton Centre. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. There will also be a memorial Mass in late spring.
