Michael P. Smith, Sr.

Michael Smith Sr. 63, of Medway, formerly of Needham, passed away on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021 with his sons by his side. Michael was an avid cook and poker player; he loved cooking big meals for family and loved ones as well as his weekly poker nights. Michael always looked forward to spending his summers at Sandy Neck Beach on Cape Cod surrounded by cherished friends and family. Always one to crack a joke or pull a prank, he kept everyone on their toes. Michael was a proud and loving Father, Papa, and Uncle. He devoted his life to his sons and took every opportunity to spend time with them or cheer them on from the sidelines. He rarely missed a Smith Family gathering and in later years, nothing made him happier than spending time with his granddaughter Norah.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Smith. He is survived by his two sons; Michael, his wife Courtney, and their daughter Norah of North Attleboro, and Christopher and his partner Tyler of Austin, TX, his father, Jerry “The Hammer” Smith, his 8 siblings; Jerry of Franklin, Tommy of Plainville, Donna of Medway, Jeannie and husband John of Sandwich, Brian and wife Kim of Medway, Kathleen and husband Jerry of Norwood, Patrick and wife Denise of Medway, Maureen and husband Randy of Falmouth, his former wife Laura of West Roxbury, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Tuesday February 23rd, from 4-7pm.
