MINH was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who worked hard and sacrificed selflessly for his family.
Born in Vietnam, MINH graduated from Saigon University. He became a teacher in Vietnam and was a First Lieutenant in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. When the Vietnam War ended, he was sent to “re-education camp” by the Communist North and later managed to escape the oppressive regime to Thailand by boat with his young family in 1980. While at a refugee camp in Thailand, the family was sponsored to the U.S. by the Grace Lutheran Church in Needham. MINH worked hard to provide for his family, often holding multiple jobs while learning English and gaining new employment skills. He retired after 30 years working as a laser engineering specialist at Textron Corporation where he received a number of awards for his ingenuity.
MINH was a loving husband to his wife of 60 years. He was especially proud of his children who thrive in America and in Needham and thankful for the freedom, opportunities and education he and his children received. Outside of work, he was an avid gardener who also enjoyed fishing at the Cape.
