Monique R. (Semprucci) Hartley

Monique R. (Semprucci) Hartley of Needham, MA, went to be with the Lord peacefully and surrounded by family on May 15th, 2023 at the age of 58 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on February 18, 1965 in Needham, MA and resided there for much of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Thomas L. Hartley III and the lights of her life, her sons Thomas L., IV and Patrick J. "PJ" Hartley, her siblings Dara, Jamie and Gregg Semprucci, as well as her many aunts, uncles, sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Monique was predeceased by her beloved parents, her mother Patricia (O’Leary) Semprucci and father, Ellio Semprucci, whose memory she carried with her throughout her life.

Monique passionately loved her three boys and adored her enormous circle of family and friends. She was warm, quirky, sharp-witted, and smart. Monique could light up a room with her bright spirit, bold laughter, and genuine smile. 

One of Monique’s greatest gifts was to see the good in everything and everyone. Endlessly curious and impressively talented, Monique recognized the beauty in the everyday things that most people take for granted.

As a gifted artist, thinker, and cook, she had a remarkable ability to infuse creativity and insight into every aspect of her life. She expressed herself and her love through painting, cooking, song and dance, gardening and joke-telling. Monique's zest for life will be cherished and remembered, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of everyone she encountered.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Friday, May 19, from 4-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 20, in St. Joseph Church, 1360 Highland Ave, Needham. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Team Andrea Foundation for families fighting breast cancer or Team Owen’s Army and the Jimmy Fund.
