Patricia A. Porreca, 75 of Walpole, died on Sunday, December 2nd, surrounded by her family. Born in Quincy, Patty grew up in Needham and was a graduate of Needham High School, Class of 1960. Throughout high school, Patty worked at a local shoe store. She settled in Walpole and was involved in the Civil Air Patrol and was Fund Campaign Executive Secretary for the YMCA in Needham. Patty was a Notary Public. Her business career led her to Italy, where she worked for Salvatore Ferragamo at the World Headquarters in Florence, and was responsible for international correspondence and translation and processing of special orders relative to multi-million dollar sales of high fashion footwear and clothing throughout Great Britain and the United States. Patty loved Italy and travelling in Europe. Locally, Patty worked as an administrative assistant to the Director of Sales Administration and to the Vice President of Corporate Development, for Mister Donut of America in the World Headquarters in Westwood.
She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, having them over for sleepovers and taking them to restaurants and playgrounds. Patty was an avid reader. She loved to decorate the outside of her house for Christmas and for all holidays and special occasions.
Daughter of the late Antonio and Olga Porreca, she is survived by her 3 siblings; Robert J. Porreca of Abington, Linda Porreca and Sheila Hurder, both of Florida. She was the aunt of Christine Carey of Del Ray FL, Artie Carey of Medway, Elisa Maines of Steamboat Springs CO, Nicholas Hurder and Danielle Johnson, both of Bellingham. Also survived by 5 great nieces and nephews and one great grandniece.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1362 Highland Ave, Needham, on Saturday, December 15th at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave, Needham, on Saturday morning from 9-10 am, prior to Mass. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patty’s name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
