Patricia "Patti" Barrett Obituary

Patricia "Patti" Barrett, 67, of Needham, MA, passed away on September 26, 2024.

Patti was born in Brooklyn, NY to Gerald and June Duffy.

Patti grew up in Plattsburgh, NY and Hamilton, NY.  She attended Hartwick College where she majored in business and met her beloved husband, Gordon.

She worked for Boston Financial until the birth of her second child. Her second career was driving her kids from one cold rink to another as a hockey mom.

Always planning her next excursion, Patti was an avid traveler.  She traveled all over the world on trips including Vietnam, India, Thailand, China, Belize, Cambodia, South Africa, and numerous countries in Europe. Some of her most treasured trips and memories took place in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with her family.

In addition to her adventurous travels, Patti loved the outdoors and any type of exercise.  If not in hot yoga, you could find her on the ski slopes, paddle tennis courts, golf course, or walking the hills of Babson College with her dog, Harry.  She even loved the thrill of skydiving and paragliding. There is nothing she would not do.

She is predeceased by her parents, June and Gerald Duffy and brother Kevin Duffy.  She is survived by her loving husband Gordon Barrett, her children Jacqueline (Christian) Ebert, George Barrett, Sam (Charlotte) Barrett and two grandchildren, Gordie and Boone.   She is also survived by her sister, Susan Duffy, and brother, Dr. Timothy (Gretchen) Duffy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 3rd 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Church, 1360 Highland Avenue, Needham, Ma.

We couldn’t have asked for a greater wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

We will miss her and her great sense of humor every day.  Her memory will live on in the hearts of all of us who knew her and loved her dearly.

In lieu of flower donations, we encourage you to carry on Patti’s love for travel and adventure by planning your next big trip with her in mind.
