Paul Whitworth Obituary

Paul R. Whitworth Jr., of Newtonville, former owner of Ken-Kaye Crafts in Newtonville, died on June 21, 2011 at Newton Wellesley Hospital. He was 79.
Paul was born and raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High. He worked with his parents operating Ken-Kaye Crafts, first in West Newton and then in Newtonville for over 50 years. Paul was an active longtime member of Freemasonry. He was a Past Master and Life Member of Dalhousie Lodge F & AM of Newton, a member of the Scottish Rite, the Masters Lodge, a District Deputy Grand Master, and recipient of the Joseph Warren Medal, for his contributions to masonry. He also loved spending weekends in Maine.
Paul was the devoted husband of Louise F. “Mac” (Patterson) Whitworth, the loving father of Janette Marashlian and her husband Richard of Newton, grandfather of Katherine Shmikler and her husband Joshua, and brother of Joyce Luddy and her husband Jack of No. Branford CT.
A graveside service will be held on Mon June 27 at 10 AM at Newton Cemetery 791 Walnut St. NEWTON CENTRE. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St. Newton Corner on Sun from 5-8 PM. A Masonic service will be conducted by Dalhousie Lodge F & AM at 7:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers , donations in Paul’s name may be made to the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Greater Boston, 458 Newtonville Ave. Newton, MA 02460 or the Paul R. Whitworth Jr. Memorial Fund at Dalhousie Lodge, PO Box 600460, Newton, MA 02460.
